Heave Ho Coffee Co.

Heave Ho Coffee Co. is an independent roaster built for early starts and long hauls, roasting small batches in the San Diego region at its roastery and cafe on Main Street in Chula Vista, where guests can smell the roast, order a drink and take home beans roasted on site. The team sources thoughtfully from regions around the world and roasts in house to bring out each coffee's flavors.

The core lineup carries nautical names, Flag Ship as a medium roast with cocoa, caramel and cherry, Black Flag as a dark roast and Light House as a light roast with citrus, honey and graham cracker, while a monthly Roaster's Choice has included an anaerobic Costa Rican coffee and a Nicaraguan coffee co fermented with a hazy IPA for a partner roaster. A second cafe in Coronado is reached from an alley behind a shop. The Chula Vista doors open at eight.
