Finjan Coffee Co.

Two small round tables with light wood cane back chairs below arched windows with golden geometric lattice screens, above a slatted wood wall panel at Finjan Coffee Co. in Mission Valley

The Mission Valley shop of Finjan Coffee Co. brings the same idea to Hazard Center, pairing specialty espresso with classic Arabic and Turkish coffee brewed in a hot sand pit. The name means coffee cup in Arabic, and the shop quotes an old proverb that the first cup is for the maker, the second for the guest, the third for pleasure and the fourth for loyalty.

Beans come from the locally roasted James Coffee Co., and the menu includes espresso, a sparkling orange espresso, batch and drip coffee, nitro cold brew and a nitro Moroccan mint tea cold brew. Knafeh is made to order, and baklawa is made in house daily with butter, filo and walnuts or pistachios. The shop opens at half past six on weekdays and at eight on weekends.
