Finjan Coffee Co. calls itself San Diego's first specialty Middle Eastern coffee shop, a project from the team behind the Tahini street food spot, founded by Moody and Osama. The name means coffee cup in Arabic, and the idea is to stick to the roots of specialty coffee, with espresso ground fresh to order from locally roasted James Coffee Co. beans, while adding classic Arabic and Turkish coffee brewed in a hot sand pit.

The menu runs from espresso and honey cinnamon or vanilla bean lattes to a sparkling orange espresso, nitro cold brew, batch and drip coffee, and Moroccan mint tea. Knafeh is made to order in two styles, baklawa is made in house daily with forty layers of filo, and the Kearny Mesa shop stays open until ten on Friday and Saturday evenings. A second shop operates in Mission Valley.
