Coffee Cycle Roasting

Coffee Cycle Roasting started as a bicycle powered coffee cart and moved into roasting in the fall of 2021, under the motto Drink Coffee, Ride Bikes. Its Voltaire Street roastery and cafe in Ocean Beach, opened in late 2024, is a roomy space with a large back patio, and the roasting is done on site by owner Chris O'Brien on a five kilo Mill City machine.

The company says every coffee on offer comes either directly from farmers or through an importer with a sterling reputation for ethical practices, and bags are sent out within a few days of roasting. The shop also sells subscriptions, merchandise and teas from China, Taiwan and Japan, and a second shop operates in Pacific Beach. It opens early on weekdays and keeps the same long day on weekends.
