Oasis

Oasis takes its original name, Mecca, from the ancient legend of a hidden desert oasis along the old caravan trade route linking the Mediterranean to East Africa and South Asia, a place said to offer travelers rest and a chance to leave their problems behind. The room leans into that idea with a warm, welcoming space built for lingering rather than passing through, especially useful on one of Rotterdam's harsher weather days.

Middle Eastern inspired vegetarian dishes make up the bulk of the menu, paired with coffee from local roastery Schot, and the combination has made Oasis a go to spot for a late breakfast or an unhurried brunch. The shop has since dropped Mecca from its public name while keeping the same space and menu on Noordsingel.
