New Jozi Coffeehouse

The colorful mural and retail shelves of coffee bags beside the blue tiled counter at New Jozi Coffeehouse

Two friends traded corporate careers for New Jozi, taking its name from a mashup of New York and Johannesburg, nicknamed Jozi, the cities each of them called home before Rotterdam. The shop pours from a rotating lineup of local roasters, Shokunin Coffee Collective, Schot, and Manhattan Coffee Roasters, rather than settling on one house name, letting regulars discover a new favorite each visit.

Breakfast and lunch run alongside the coffee program, a Korean glazed chicken sandwich and Norwegian pancakes among the regulars' picks, with affordable breakfast sets available from opening. A supervised kids play area and family friendly pricing on weekdays make it one of the more practical laptop friendly stops in the neighborhood for anyone traveling with children.
