Café Lunático

Taina Amorim and Jefferson Goncalves founded Lunatico in Tijuca, registering the business in October 2020, despite neither having a coffee industry background or even much of a regular coffee habit beforehand, Taina having worked in public relations and Jefferson in finance. They researched the specialty sector from scratch and built the shop around a celestial, universe themed room rather than following an existing cafe template.

Rather than roasting its own beans, Lunatico curates a rotating selection from outside micro roasters, changing what is on offer as new lots come in, which keeps the small Tijuca room feeling more like a tasting rotation than a fixed menu.
