Rocket Bean Roastery

Mārtiņš Dzenis and Raimond Feil founded Rocket Bean in 2015 as an open roastery concept opposite the Laima chocolate factory, letting customers watch beans roast on site rather than tucking the equipment out of view. Green coffee comes through importers Belco, Johan and Nyström, and Nordic Approach, pulled on a customized La Marzocco Strada espresso machine at the bar or through AeroPress, Chemex, V60, and syphon at a dedicated brew bar.

The espresso bar deliberately serves only straight black shots, anyone wanting milk or an alternative drink gets steered to the brew bar instead, a split that nets roughly even sales between espresso and brewed coffee. The Miera iela original has since become the flagship of what's grown into a specialty roastery group with further outposts in Tallinn and Vilnius.
