Kaktus Espressobar

Kaktus started small on Vitastígur, built around a vintage Faema President espresso machine and a house blend called Michelangelo, a mix of Brazilian and Indian Arabica with a portion of Robusta, sourced from Caffè Italia near Rome rather than a local roaster. That original room, the shop still calls it home, has since grown into a two location operation with a second spot at Fríkirkjuvegur 7.
Artisan coffee, brunch, and fresh bakes fill the menu in a room the shop describes as a cozy neighborhood cafe rather than a destination roastery, and the character has held steady since opening. Weekday mornings start earlier than the weekend schedule, standard for a shop that leans on a local breakfast crowd.
