Industra Coffee

A hand painted espresso machine with colorful cartoon artwork on the counter at Industra Coffee

Industra started as a Brno roastery known for winning the Czech Brewers Cup in 2014 and 2017, and its Prague outpost lives inside 1981, a curated vintage clothing shop tucked into a Nusle courtyard. The two brands share the floor rather than just the building, racks of secondhand Levi's and Barbour a few steps from a hand painted Nuova Simonelli machine that the roastery had customized in bright, cartoonish colors, a detail regulars photograph almost as often as their coffee.

The counter runs a rotating lineup of the roastery's own beans through V60 pour over and batch filter as much as espresso, and the courtyard out back has deck chairs where a coffee turns into a slow afternoon. Bags of the house roast go home with most visitors, chosen with the same attention the shop puts into curating its clothing racks, and the pairing of vintage shopping with genuinely serious coffee has made this one of the more talked about specialty spots on this side of the river.
