Doubleshot (Místo)

A batch of filter coffee poured into branded Doubleshot mugs lined up on the counter

Jaroslav Tuček founded Doubleshot in 2010 after spending a year on a coffee farm in Boquete, Panama under farmer Graciano Cruz, while a cofounder trained as a roaster at 49th Parallel in Vancouver. The company became the first Czech roastery to run a direct trade program, in a market that had until then run almost entirely on Italian style blends, and has since grown to three Prague cafes, a training school, a bakery, and wholesale accounts across Central and Eastern Europe, roasting around 12 tonnes of coffee a month.

Místo, the Dejvice location, serves coffee exclusively from Doubleshot's own roastery in a spacious, colorful room built for lingering: wide stairs out front where a coffee and a dog fit together easily, quieter couch seating further in, and a small library corner. Simple food, breakfast and homemade pastries, rounds out the coffee program.
