von&vonnie

von&vonnie is the café and microroastery of Morgan von Mantripp and Yvonne Spresny, who both fell in love with coffee before they fell in love with each other, and who dreamed up a little café called von&vonnie in their early twenties. In September 2023 the dream turned into a project on Rua do Heroísmo in Bonfim, a welcoming neighborhood room where regulars and visitors share the space, with baked goods alongside the coffee.

The beans are roasted in house, a rotating lineup of clean, high clarity coffees from smaller scale producers who may not otherwise reach the specialty market, bought through importers such as ThisSideUp, Semilla and Primavera. The founders commit to buying from the same producers year after year, whatever the crop turns out to be, and bags of their coffee are sold at the café and online.
