C'alma Specialty Coffee Room

C'alma has been pouring coffee since 2018 from the first floor of the Ateneu Comercial do Porto, a historic building a short walk from São Bento station. High ceilings, ornate windows, lush plants and yellow Portuguese tiles frame a calm room with a piano at the front, tucked away from the busy streets above the Baixa and made for slowing down.

The idea is a coffee tasting room rather than a single roaster bar. Beans arrive from several roasters from different parts of the world, so the same table can compare coffees and brewing methods, with espresso, filter, V60, Aeropress and Chemex on offer alongside pastéis de nata, muffins and slow fermented bread.
