Seven Virtues Coffee Roasters Zipper

The long blue steel and pale wood counter and glass pastry case inside Seven Virtues at the Zipper under dark exposed beams

The Zipper Building cafe is the Eastside home of Seven Virtues, a family run roaster that has focused on ethically sourced single origin coffee since 2007. Inside, a long counter of blue steel and pale wood runs beside a glass pastry case, with polished concrete floors, dark exposed beams, industrial pendant lamps and a bold red wall at the back.

The team roasts in small batches and buys through direct relationships with farmers, and the bar prepares espresso, pour over and cold brew alongside house made pastries and bagel sandwiches, with many gluten free and vegan options. Free high speed wifi and plenty of outlets make it an easy place to settle in with a laptop, whole beans and canned cold brew are sold to take away, and the cafe opens at seven on weekdays and eight on weekends before closing at four.
