Nossa Familia Coffee

Augusto Carvalho Dias Carneiro founded Nossa Familia, Portuguese for our family, in 2004, sourcing coffee sustainably from Brazil, Africa, and Central America through direct relationships with the farms. The Seven Corners cafe sits at the edge of Ladd's Addition on Southeast Division Street, one of several dedicated cafe spaces the roastery opened in 2017 after closing its original Northwest Portland warehouse.
Nossa Familia became the first Portland coffee shop to add a 25 cent charge on disposable to go cups back in 2019, an early move toward cutting down on waste, and the company operates as a certified B Corp. The cafe paused for nearly two years during the pandemic before reopening in January 2022, and today it runs a dog friendly patio and a laptop friendly room that Eater Portland has highlighted for its hot chocolate as much as its coffee.
