Keeper Coffee

Keeper Coffee fills a small 1920s building on Southeast 41st Avenue in the northwest corner of Woodstock, with bistro tables out front and a room of marble tables, vintage wooden chairs and open shelves of ceramics. The cafe pours Coava coffee, and the bar is known for its barista talent: Morgan Eckroth won the United States Barista Championship in 2022 while representing Keeper.

Teas come from Spirit Tea, Smith Tea, Mizuba Matcha and Dona Chai, and house made pastries fill the counter, with a few vegan and gluten free options. Students from nearby Reed College and remote workers settle in on weekday mornings, and the cafe opens every day from seven in the morning until five. Keeper has a second cafe in Milwaukie, but this Woodstock original is the one that set its tone.
