Heart Coffee Roasters Woodstock

The sunlit room at Heart Coffee Roasters in Woodstock with a long walnut bench and white planter filled with tall grasses, chunky timber stools, glass globe pendants and the bar behind

Heart's Woodstock cafe is the larger of its two Portland rooms, set away from the downtown cluster and built from natural materials with a minimalist hand so that the coffee stays the star. Warm wood overhead, big windows and clean Schoolhouse fixtures give the space a calm, daylit feel, and unlike Heart's first cafe it serves a food menu alongside the coffee.

Heart roasts on a Probat UG 15 drum roaster and buys through direct relationships with growers, and its light, carefully prepared coffees are poured here as espresso and filter and sold as whole beans for home brewing. The cafe has no wifi, which suits quick visits and long conversations, and it opens at seven on weekday mornings and at eight on weekends before closing at three in the afternoon.
