Cultivate Coffee

Cultivate Coffee opened its first roastery and coffee shop in Sunnyslope in August 2019, run by head roaster Chris Priebe and backed by the nonprofit Crowd to Community. The idea is that every cup supports vulnerable neighbors, and the shop employs young adults aging out of foster care, refugees and others looking for a fresh start, with job and life skills built into the work.

The coffee is roasted on site from farms chosen for sustainable, ethical working conditions, and other Phoenix cafes buy its beans. The cafe sells bags of roasted coffee and merchandise, takes pickup orders online and keeps a long day, open from seven until six, Monday to Saturday, closing on Sundays, which makes it an easy neighborhood stop.
