Case Study Coffee Lounge

The coffee counter at Case Study Coffee Lounge beneath a lit neon sign reading A Craftsman Never Dies and three menu screens

Case Study Coffee Lounge started when custom furniture maker William Douglas began offering coffee in his showroom so clients could sit in his chairs while he built their commissions. After a sudden allergy to most trees pushed him away from woodworking, coffee grew into the main business, and the space on 16th Street near Pierson still shows the woodworker's hand in its benches, counters and shelving.

The lounge sells specialty coffee roasted fresh to order in Phoenix, with beans available to order through its website, and its signature drink is a latte flavored with a house brown sugar and sage syrup. The door is open every day from seven until six, and the room is a comfortable, unhurried place to sit with a drink away from the downtown crowds.
