Ultimo Coffee

The Germantown cafe opened in March 2019, a large cafe and bakery in a high ceilinged room on Wayne Avenue. A black and white hexagon tile floor runs under a long counter, with red steel beams overhead and plenty of tables for staying a while, with tall windows along one wall.
Ultimo began in Newbold in 2009, started by Aaron and Elizabeth Ultimo, and has long been counted among the first specialty coffee shops in Philadelphia. Its own roastery, started in 2016, supplies the coffee served here, and bags of beans are sold from a wooden shelf by the counter. The cafe opens at seven on weekdays and eight at weekends, and closes at six every evening.
