Persimmon Coffee

Persimmon Coffee began on Christmas Day in 2020 as a mobile pop up, serving drip coffee in cold weather from University City to Queen Village before Chaereen Pak and Sawyer Beckley opened their own storefront on West Girard Avenue in the summer of 2022. The name comes from a fruit tree that can take ten years to bear its first harvest, a nod to patience and care.
The roaster offers one single origin coffee each month, and the counter pours espresso drinks, drip, Japanese flash brewed iced coffee and pour over, with decaf available for most. Seasonal iced drinks sit beside matcha and a short tea list that includes a Korean barley tea. The room is dim and warm, lit by paper lanterns and a neon sign reading you are enough.
