Herman's Coffee & Market

Herman's Coffee began as a neighborhood roaster in Pennsport and takes its name from Herman, a man who started each day with a cup of coffee in a lawn chair in his garage with the door open. The shop is a tribute to that simple habit, and a woven lawn chair appears throughout its branding.

Over the years it has grown into a coffee shop and specialty market on South 3rd Street, with shelves of pantry goods, drinks and bags of its own roasted coffee. Food trucks come through on weekends for brunch, guest chefs pop up from a small food cart, and Saturday mornings bring market vendors. After dark the cafe switches to an evening table service with candles, cocktails and light bites.
