Habitat Coffee House sits on a corner of Spruce Street in Center City, a neighborhood coffee shop built around one phrase, that when the shop wins, everyone wins. Founder Aaron Beattie started in a fast food kitchen and came to see serving people well as a calling, and the shop is meant to be a counter story to the idea that there is never enough to go around.

The coffee is third wave specialty, offered as rotating single origins and house blends roasted in Philadelphia by Habitat's own roastery, which also supplies subscriptions and wholesale accounts across the city. The baristas are trained to make careful drinks without making anyone feel judged for not knowing the difference between washed and natural process. The shop opens early every day, and whole bean coffee can be collected in person at the counter.
