Telegram Coffee

Telegram runs out of a handmade coffee cart tucked behind the Postal Hall in the State Buildings, the heritage former post office complex on the corner of St Georges Terrace and Barrack Street. The kiosk itself is a piece of the building's history, built around a 135 year old crank wheel salvaged during the restoration, and the warm lighting and old timber surrounds give the corner a quiet, almost secretive feel among the tourists and lunch crowds passing through.
Telegram roasts its own coffee through a dedicated micro roasting setup with climate controlled green bean storage, running a house blend alongside single origin and filter options that rotate through the year, with roasted beans also sold to take home. The bar keeps weekday hours only, open 6am to 4pm Monday to Friday and closed on weekends, built around the CBD's working week rather than weekend wandering.
