Next Step Coffee

The entrance to Next Step Coffee, with a coffee bean sign above the door and evolution themed lettering on either side

Next Step Coffee runs from a small room at the edge of Pécs's old town, its Ferencesek utcája address technically correct but its entrance more easily found from the Kórház tér side than from the street name printed on the sign. The kitchen turns out home baked cinnamon rolls and cocoa snails on a rotating schedule, Fridays reserved for a hazelnut cream and cocoa version that sells out.

A single origin Burundi Nemba from Warda Coffee Roasters has appeared on the menu as a summer guest coffee, evidence of a bar that treats its filter program as more than an afterthought to espresso. The staff have built a loyal following largely through word of mouth, a self service counter that stays personal despite the format.
