Irem Kertje

Irem Kertje sits on a raised garden terrace above the old Pasha Qasim mosque on Széchenyi tér, entered up a short flight of steps that most visitors to the square walk straight past. By day it runs as a calm outdoor coffee spot under the trees, then shifts into a cocktail and wine bar as the evening design markets and DJ sets it hosts pull a younger crowd through the gate.
A doppio pulled here comes out well balanced and smoothly extracted, and the cake counter draws its own following, rich without tipping into overly sweet. Dogs are welcome at the tables and inside, and laptops are common enough on quieter afternoons before the bar side of the day takes over.
