The Beans on Fire Trois Frères

The bright red The Beans on Fire shopfront at 61 Rue des Trois Frères with roasting and pastry lettering in the windows

A bright red shopfront on Rue des Trois Frères, a street at the foot of Montmartre, with stools on the pavement and lettering in the windows that promises artisan roasting, loose coffee and home made pastry. The Beans on Fire is a collaborative roastery whose workshop roasts for more than thirty coffee projects, from coffee shops to restaurants and other roasters, and this is one of the three Paris coffee shops it runs itself.

The small room feels busy and friendly, with a counter by the door and tins of beans sold loose by weight in the window. The coffees are sourced directly from growers and the current range is posted on the roastery's web shop. It opens at eight on weekdays and an hour later at the weekend, closing at six every day, a handy stop on the walk up from Pigalle.
