Early Bird Artisanal Coffee Roasters

The crowded counter and shelves of Early Bird under glass roof lamps in the Marché Beauvau

Inside the covered Marché Beauvau on Place d'Aligre, Early Bird is a roasting workshop, coffee shop and small boutique squeezed between the market's food stalls. Everything it roasts is certified specialty grade, and the shelves list single origins from Brazil, Honduras, Colombia, Guatemala, Ethiopia, Kenya and Tanzania, next to a range of organic teas and infusions.

It is a compact, lively spot where the coffee is part of the market's daily noise rather than a quiet retreat. The hours follow the market, with a pause in the middle of the day from Tuesday to Friday, a full day on Saturday and a morning on Sunday. Beans and teas are sold to take home, so it also works as a stop on the way back from the Aligre stalls.
