Café Cayo

A glass fronted corner café in the 13th arrondissement, a few minutes from Chevaleret station, with the Cayo name in dark letters above the door and long wooden benches set out on the pavement. Cayo roasts its own coffee and lists every lot on its web shop by farm and process, naturals, washed and anaerobic, from Costa Rica, Uganda, Brazil, Guatemala, Colombia, Nicaragua and Ethiopia.
Inside, terrazzo topped tables, wooden chairs and a long banquette fill a calm room of bare concrete and pale light. The kitchen is a real part of the place, with brunch, tapas and natural wine, and vegetarian and vegan dishes are on the menu, so it suits a long sit as much as a quick espresso. It stays open into the evening from Wednesday to Friday.
