Boot Café

Often called the smallest café in Paris, and it's hard to argue — a former cobbler's shop with the original blue 'Cordonnerie' signage still on the facade, a marble counter, and room for perhaps two small tables inside. It sits in the Marais, a neighborhood that's gone from historic Jewish quarter to one of the most fashion-forward, boutique-dense parts of the city, and Boot Café's tiny, photogenic storefront has become something of an emblem of that transformation — it's among the most-photographed café exteriors in Paris, for better or worse. Beans come from outside roasters like Belleville Brûlerie and La Cabra rather than an in-house roast, keeping the operation as compact as the room itself.

There's no real space to linger, which makes it more of a doorway stop than a sit-down destination, and exactly the kind of thing that photographs better than it seats. Marais foot traffic keeps it busy most of the day regardless.
