Boot Café

Often called the smallest café in Paris, and it's hard to argue: a former cobbler's shop with the original blue 'Cordonnerie' signage still on the facade, a marble counter, and room for perhaps two small tables inside. It sits in the Marais, a neighborhood that's gone from historic Jewish quarter to one of the most fashion forward, boutique dense parts of the city, and Boot Café's tiny, photogenic storefront has become something of an emblem of that transformation. It's among the most photographed café exteriors in Paris. Beans come from outside roasters like Belleville Brûlerie and La Cabra rather than an in house roast, keeping the operation as compact as the room itself.

There's no real space to linger, which makes it more of a doorway stop than a sit down destination, and exactly the kind of thing that photographs better than it seats. Marais foot traffic keeps it busy most of the day regardless.
