Back in Black

The black storefront of Back in Black on Rue Amelot, COFFEE ROASTERY lettered above tall windows, wooden benches along the pavement and menus posted beside the door

Back in Black is the second room from the team behind KB Coffee Roasters up on Rue des Martyrs, and where KB is a corner bar this is a big, bright, busy cafe: light wood, concrete, large windows onto Rue Amelot near Bastille, with KB's own light, expressive roasts across espresso and filter and a changing retail shelf. The all day breakfast and brunch is handmade, scrambled eggs, pancakes, scones, banana bread and cakes, and it is one of the few serious coffee rooms in Paris that is genuinely comfortable to work from, wifi on and laptops welcome.

Open nine to half four on weekdays and into the early evening at weekends. Choose KB for the roaster's own counter, Back in Black for a long breakfast with the same coffee.
