Industrial Strength Coffee

Industrial Strength Coffee occupies a corner of an old factory building on Pikisaari, the artisan island just across the water from central Oulu. Matthew Barth roasts every batch himself in small quantities, then serves it two days a week from a tasting counter set up among the roasting equipment, string lights and a decommissioned DJ booth left over from the building's previous life.

The focus stays on filter coffee, batch brew and V60 rather than milk drinks, with beans sold by the 200g bag to take home or order in bulk for an office. It is the only roastery operating in Oulu, and the tasting point keeps to Friday and Saturday, 11:00 to 18:00.
