Manhattan's Coffee Co.

Interior counter of Manhattan's Coffee Co, with a menu board, espresso machine, glass pastry case, and bags of Cloudforest coffee beans on the shelf

Manhattan's opened its small storefront on Laurier Avenue West in 2019, in the stretch of Centretown near the University of Ottawa that locals sometimes call the Golden Triangle. There is barely enough room to sit down inside, and the shop leans into that with a grab and go counter built for the steady flow of students, professors, and office workers passing through on their way somewhere else.

Coffee comes from Cloudforest, a Westboro based roaster that sources beans grown in the cloud forest valleys of the Ecuadorian Andes, pulled as espresso and drip through the morning rush alongside croissants and breakfast wraps. The staff have built a loyal following in a short amount of time, with regulars coming back as much for the friendly service as for the coffee itself.
