Little Victories Coffee Roasters

Little Victories started in 2016 when Andrew Bassett and Jeremie Thompson began selling small batches of roasted beans out of the back of a bicycle shop in Hintonburg. Bassett had spent time behind the bar in Melbourne and came home wanting to build something with the same precision, and within a year the pair had opened their first cafe in the Glebe. The Elgin Street location, which opened in 2021 as the roaster's flagship, sits across from Confederation Square in a bright, tall ceilinged space with big windows built for people watching along one of downtown Ottawa's busiest walking streets.

The bar runs entirely on Little Victories' own roasts, pulled as espresso classics or brewed by hand, with exposed brick and a clean, uncluttered counter keeping the room calm even when it fills up with the downtown lunch crowd. A patio out front catches the afternoon sun and looks straight up toward Parliament Hill, making it as much a spot to linger over a laptop as to grab a flat white on the way past.
