Notequal Coffee

Notequal runs out of a narrow, all black room in the Takara Building near Hommachi Station, with one person behind the counter and seats for roughly seven. The name is a nod to the idea that no two cups should taste the same, and the shop leans into that by asking each customer what they want out of a coffee before brewing it, rather than working off a fixed menu.
The bean list moves across light, medium and dark roasts sourced from several countries, including small lots of Malawi Geisha that show up when available. Because each pour over is dialed in individually, a cup here can take fifteen minutes or more from order to table, a tradeoff the shop treats as the point rather than a flaw.
