Coffee Long Season

The corner storefront of Coffee Long Season with a vertical COFFEE sign and a dark entrance beside a pedestrian traffic light

Takuya Okita opened Coffee Long Season in Nishitanabe on February 9, 2022, taking over a kissaten space that had already been serving the neighborhood coffee for sixty years rather than starting from empty. He brought eight years at Osaka's Tamakura Coffee Roasters and two more at Coffee County in his native Fukuoka into a small room built around a Probat roaster in the corner, a Scandinavian sofa and a hand carved bear.

The shop is named for a Fishmans song from the nineties, and that same unhurried mood carries into the coffee, a tightly edited pour over list running through lots like Colombia El Naranjo Pink Bourbon, Ethiopia Tabe Burka and Kenya Ruarai. Homemade cheesecake is the one steady food item, and vinyl on the turntable fills in the rest of the room.
