Velodrom Kaffebar

Kåre Loll opened Velodrom in 2015 inside a protected 1876 station building on a still active rail line, trains stop outside twice an hour, naming the shop for Thorvald Ellegaard, a local world sprint cycling champion with six world titles between 1901 and 1911. The retro 1960s and 70s styled room keeps the original ticket hatch and Aage Rasmussen's iconic DSB rail posters on the walls, poured on a vintage Faema E61 machine with beans from Kaffe Lars, a roaster running since 1912.
A major renovation closed the cafe for nearly two years before it reopened in February 2022, converting a former relay room into a small meeting nook with its own service hatch. Loll has said more hidden period details from the building's past still remain to be uncovered.
