Terremoto Coffee

Terremoto is a small Chelsea coffee bar near Chelsea Market, founded by Richard Agudelo, a professional photographer who became obsessed with coffee. The room is a snug ground floor space with an exposed brick wall, a counter running across the back, a bench and a few two seat tables, and a showpiece espresso machine at the center of it all.

The menu is built around a short, changing list of single origin coffees served as espresso or pour over, and the team offers several espresso options each day so each coffee's character can show. Pastries lean French, and there is some outdoor seating when the weather allows. It opens early every morning, with slightly longer hours at the weekend.
