Stonefruit Espresso + Kitchen

Laure Sorensen moved from Manhattan to Bed Stuy to open the cafe she had long wanted, combining a working coffee bar with a plant and flower shop inside the same room, an unusual pairing for the neighborhood. The dual concept means the counter smells as much of fresh stems as of espresso, a signature quirk that sets the room apart from a standard neighborhood cafe.
A genuine food program runs alongside the coffee, the kind of menu that keeps regulars through the afternoon rather than just a quick morning stop. Both indoor and outdoor seating extend the small Bedford Avenue room, and dogs are welcome throughout.
