Round K was founded by Ockhyeon Byeon, who opened the original shop at 99 Allen Street in 2015. Byeon roasts in a Brooklyn garage facility on a restored 5 kg Imex electric roaster.

Green coffee comes mainly through Cereza Coffee, plus seasonal lots from Huehuetenango, Guatemala. Espresso is pulled on a Victoria Arduino Black Eagle, with Hario V60 and Kalita pour overs for filter.
