Melting Cups

The red awning storefront of Melting Cups with red bistro tables on the sidewalk and a leafy street tree

Melting Cups is a cafe, cocktail bar and gallery in Sunnyside that serves SEY Coffee through the day and turns to wine, beer and coffee cocktails on weekend evenings. The room has a lounge with dark wood paneling, a bright front window and red tables out on the sidewalk under a red awning.

The owners drew on coffee shops in Brazil and cigar lounges in Japan, hoping to make a relaxed place for working, unwinding or meeting up. The daytime menu runs from espresso, cortado and pour over to specials such as an espresso tonic or a rose matcha latte, made with ceremonial grade matcha. The gallery, called All the While, hosts art shows and events, and daytime hours run from seven in the morning to five in the afternoon.
