Kinship Coffee Steinway Street

Kinship is a family run Astoria cafe group, founded in 2014 by Stanley Rivera and Ashley Wood-Rivera, whose first shop opened in the building where the couple once rented an apartment. The Steinway Street cafe is the one with the big black and white wall mural, a bright front window, a round table and a reclaimed wood bar at the window, plus a pastry case at the counter.
The coffee is small batch and single origin, and Kinship has roasted it in Astoria itself since 2020. A shelf of boxed coffees sits beside the counter for taking beans home, and the seasonal menu turns through the year. Hours run from seven in the morning to six in the evening, and an hour later on Friday and Saturday.
