Cafe Grumpy Greenpoint

Cafe Grumpy opened its first shop on Meserole Avenue in 2005, years before Greenpoint became a coffee destination, and this is still the company's first and most spacious cafe. The interior is bright and airy, with a long counter, plenty of seating and a second room with a shelf of free books, and the roastery sits close by.
The cafe pours its own coffee, including the Heartbreaker espresso blend that anchors the company's range, next to pastries from local bakeries, and it sells bags of beans and logo mugs to take home. Benches outside suit a cup in the sun, free wifi is on offer, and hours are the same every day, seven in the morning to six in the evening.
