Barista Parlor East Nashville

Andy Mumma opened the first Barista Parlor in May 2012 inside an old East Nashville auto transmission garage, the original room in what became a three location design trilogy Mumma called Land, Sea and Air, tied to his automotive and adaptive reuse aesthetic. This East Nashville room is the sole survivor of that original trio, after the Germantown and Gulch locations both closed in January 2026 amid rising rent, insurance and labor costs.

The shop pairs heavily designed, retro industrial spaces full of local art and design touches with serious, unpretentious specialty coffee, roasting its own beans while also brewing guest roasters by the cup. Retail bags, merchandise and equipment are sold both in store and through the brand's own site, and the room is currently undergoing a menu and roasting equipment refresh.
