Saihonnoma

Saihonnoma is a siphon coffee and tea room on the second floor of a building near Kokusai Center station, run by Yoshinobu Nakayama, a three time Japan Siphonist Champion. Specialty coffees, single origins and blends, are brewed on the siphon, and each seat at the special counter has its own tray with a small bonsai on it, so the brewing happens in front of you. Counter seats carry a small seat charge, while the long window tables are free and can be reserved online up to thirty days ahead.
The siphon also makes Japanese teas, Chinese teas and herb infusions, and the menu runs to matcha, bread, cakes and Japanese sweets, with the siphon coffee itself still the centrepiece of the room.
