Q.O.L. Coffee

Q.O.L. Coffee opened on 11 June 2017 on the corner of the Ootsubashi crossing, below Nagoya Castle, after owner Yuya Shima trained at a Nagoya coffee merchant and worked as a barista in Melbourne. The name stands for Quality of Life, and the shop combines a roastery, a cafe and a small gallery across two floors with 27 seats.
Every roasted batch is logged and tasted, and the beans are hand picked to remove defects before they are sold. The roastery won the Japan round of the World Winners of Coffee Roasting Championship in 2025. A second counter, Q.O.L. Coffee Brewers, operates in Nagoya Parco.
