Albert Coffee Roasters

Albert Coffee Roasters is a small roastery in a quiet residential part of Kamiotai, in Nishi ward, named after Albert Einstein. The two owners met through photography and painting, and they treat roasting as applied science, tracking the rate of temperature rise and the chemistry behind the resulting taste.

The shop is deliberately spare, with no cake case and no indoor seating, so that attention stays on the coffee. Visitors choose roasted beans and take a cup away, and the beans are also sold through an online shop.
