Vits Kaffee

Alexander Vits has been roasting in house on Rumfordstraße since 2007, a short walk from Viktualienmarkt, which makes this one of the earliest rooms in Munich to treat coffee as something with an origin and a season. The roastery sits right behind the cafe, and the beans that come off the drum are the ones in your cup.
The bar is a long run of mint green tile with a classic espresso machine and a wall of glass bean dispensers behind it, set in a bright, old school room that feels more Italian than Bavarian. The shelves list blends alongside single origins such as Ethiopia Bonga Forest, Ethiopia Sidamo and Brazil Lagoa, there is a weekly espresso to ask the barista about, and pour over is on the menu. The team also runs small courses in espresso, latte art, brewing and sensory training, so there is a way to learn the craft as well as drink it.
