The Barn

The Barn was founded in Berlin in 2010 by Ralf Rüller, who returned to the city after a decade in London working in finance and acting, chasing the kind of quality and freshness he had found wandering Borough Market. It has since grown into one of Germany's most decorated specialty roasters, with locations across Berlin and outposts as far as South Korea and Dubai. This Glockenbachviertel address is Munich's neighborhood facing store, a short walk from the canal side streets that give the district its name.

Beans are roasted centrally at the Berlin roastery and served here both by the cup and sold by the bag for anyone brewing at home. The room keeps to the same pared back, minimalist look the brand is known for elsewhere, benches out front giving regulars somewhere to sit with a cup rather than rush off. Dogs are welcome throughout.
