sweet spot kaffee

A retail wall of labeled coffee bean bags organized into lettered sections at sweet spot kaffee

Markus Pyttel left a job as editorial director at a Munich marketing agency in 2019 to open the original sweet spot kaffee, a tiny counter near Viktualienmarkt that got busy enough, close to eight hundred fifty coffees on a single Saturday by his own count, that a second, larger shop became necessary. This Reichenbachstraße address opened in November 2023 between Gärtnerplatz and the Isar, built around a Poursteady automated pour over station and a wall of retail bean bags organized into lettered sections like a small library.

Nothing here is roasted in house. Three new coffees rotate onto the shelf every week instead, pulled from a changing list of international names, La Cabra, SEY, Coffee Collective, Tim Wendelboe, and NØMAD among them, each one cupped above 85 points before it makes the cut. Pastries come from the partner bakery Bageri.
